The National Institutes of Health (NIH) believe “technology has opened a new frontier in mental health support,” but questions remain around how psychiatrists feel about these shifts in care delivery, especially with digital therapeutics (DTx)—defined as treatments delivered directly to patients via software or apps. DTx overall have a relatively small presence today, only about $5 billion globally, but are expected to be a $56 billion market in ten years.
